Robert De Niro says Rudy Giuliani now ‘represents a mafia family’

Robert De Niro has accused Rudy Giuliani of going from taking on the mafia to ‘representing a mafia family’.

The 77-year-old actor is one of Donald Trump’s most stubborn critics, describing the president as ‘clearly stupid’, ‘a true racist’, a ‘punk’ and a ‘street dog’.

The president, in turn, has described De Niro, who won an Oscar for his role as Vito Corleone in The Godfather, as overrated and brain-damaged from too many fight scenes.

On Friday morning, De Niro turned his fire on Giuliani, Trump’s attorney, who currently heads the president’s electoral fraud team.

De Niro was asked about Giuliani – like him, an Italian American from New York City

He noted how Giuliani, as an American attorney for the Southern District of New York, put many gangsters behind bars in the 1980s under the Extortion Affected and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO).

Giuliani is listed as infamous by the National Museum of Crime and Law Enforcement ‘mob buster’.

“He’s the one who was prosecuted under the RICO law, as I understand it,” De Niro told Sunny Hostin, co-presenter of The View.

And now he’s representing a mafia family. It’s crazy. I don’t know what happened to him. I feel bad for him. ‘

Asked why he would do it, De Niro replies: ‘I only think for attention. Maybe out of desperation? ‘

He adds, ‘I can’t understand because it’s just so easy to say, look, I can’t believe this, I’m gone.

“He had so much respect that people would hire him, or hire him.”

He pointed to the example of Christopher Kreb, Homeland Security’s chief of cybersecurity, who said the election was safe.

He said there was no spilling, or minimal. He did the right thing, ”said De Niro.

Giuliani, Trump’s attorney, is leading efforts to challenge the election results

Giuliani, 76, was at the forefront of Trump’s efforts to win the election.

In October and November, he was in the midst of a plan to damage Joe Biden by revealing the contents of his son Hunter’s laptop. The laptop was obtained by Giuliani and its contents handed over to sympathetic news outlets.

After the election, he was put in charge of the fraud claims investigation and held a memorable press conference at the Four Seasons Total Landscaping in Philadelphia, where he heard live over the air that Biden had been named the winner.

Giuliani held another press conference on Thursday, this one at the headquarters of the Republican National Committee in Washington DC.

During the surreal event, he claimed that voting machines had been hacked and that voices changed overnight, thanks to technology developed with the support of the late Hugo Chavez, Cuba and China.

As he spoke, hair dye dripped over his face under the hot camera lights.
