Dana White says he would bet Khabib Nurmagomedov will reverse his UFC retirement

Dana White is willing to put money into Khabib Nurmagomedov who is making a sensational return to the Octagon, despite announcing his retirement last month.

The Russian fighter hung up his gloves after an emotional victory over Justin Gaethje in Abu Dhabi in October.

Khabib cited the death of his father, Abdulmanap, who died in July of complications from coronavrius, as a reason to quit.

But White believes Khabib will return for one more fight, to set a 30-0 winning record, and has even registered four potential opponents for the comeback fight.

“If I had to bet – and I’m a gambler – I would bet he does [return],’ he told TMZ Sports.

“So yes … I think he will.”

And he pointed to two upcoming fights, the return of Conor McGregor against Dustin Poirier on Jan. 23 and Michael Chandler’s alleged clash with Tony Ferguson.

He added, “We’ll see all these things play out here … One of those guys would definitely be in battle.”

McGregor signed his match deal on Friday for his rematch with Poirier.

The news was confirmed by the Dubliner’s own media outlet, The Mac life, with the competition scheduled to take place at lightweight. Poirier already signed his contract last week.

The fight, which Dana White has said will not be for a title, will likely take place on Fight Island in Abu Dhabi.

“I am very grateful to be about to return and do what I love again,” McGregor said of the game recently.
